Meet The Owner
Hello! My name is Kate and I have had a true love for animals my whole life. I have dedicated my life to grooming pets and continue to do so because, put simply, I really enjoy what I do. I have been grooming, managing, and working with animals for over 20 years and have competed in grooming competitions. I am CPR Certified and have studied Chinese Medicine and Herbs while working as a Vet Assistant. This is where I learned a great deal about how to recognize stress in animals, nutrition, and how to calmly and naturally treat pets. Way before it became trendy, I was a strong advocate for limited ingredient pet foods. At the time I was working for a large company and was often ridiculed for suggesting limited ingredient diets. After 13 years, I decided to venture out on my own. I rebelled against the factory-like ways of grooming and that's why I started a cage-free grooming business. I also, pride myself on bringing good nutritional foods and safe non-toxic toys in my store and support local homemade products. While I hold a degree in Physics connected to the medical field, I never really found true happiness until I discovered my love for animals. Today I use my education to teach children mathematics as a volunteer. In my free time (ha ha), I love to read, paint, travel and have a passion for photography. In fact, all the pet photos on this website are mine. They say a picture is worth a thousand words - just check out all my pet photos and I'm sure you'll see in them what I see in them! When done correctly and performed by professionals, grooming is not only safe, but it's important for your pet's health and well-being.
How often should I groom my dog?
It depends, based on the breed and coat type. The average is every 4-6 weeks but our professionals will help you determine the schedule that's best for your pet.
How often do nails need trimming?
For the health and comfort of your dog, we recommend trimming nails every 6 weeks.
Are vaccinations required?
Only Rabies Vaccinations are required as dictated by state regulation. Since we do not cage our pets, we do not require other vaccinations.
How old does my puppy need to be for her first grooming?
It is good to get your puppy familiar and comfortable with the grooming process as early as possible and after the first set of puppy shots, usually 12-16 weeks of age. This will help them learn that grooming is a safe and pleasant experience.
